Lutheran World Relief

Coordinator: Betty Golden

This is a group empowered by God's unconditional love for ALL people They serve their neighbors. In 1945 World War II left one fifth of the world's Lutherans homeless. In the U.S. Lutheran churches mobilized to help in Europe through this agency. Today LWR helps in East and West Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East. LWR invests in agriculture to help people reduce poverty. They help the environment and aid in emergencies to help people recover. We can all get involved: monetary donations, LWR Farmers Market Coffee, quilts, kits and soap donations. Our congregations of Faith and Grace Parish make a yearly donation of quilts, school kits, personal care kits, soap donations, and monetary donation. In October we take our donations to Basco, Ill where they are transported to Bloomington, Ill, then onward to the East Coast and sent all over the world for those in need.
